Talisker's home on the Isle of Skye sits on the line of latitude 57° North, hence the name of this bold single malt, bottled at a weighty 57% ABV.

Out of all the malts I have tried this is my least favorite. It is very strong tasting and the after taste to me is offensive. I did describe what it tasted like to me but my review was taken down but I did not use any offensive language just honesty. So I have removed the description of the aftertaste and hopefully free speech will prevail this time. I will not be buying it again.
Forget Talisker Storm, Dark Storm, Skye and all the other rubbish NAS Taliskers. They are all poor but more expensive versions of the great 10 year old. However, this one is something different and if you are a Talisker fan you will love it.
... in my opinion the ardbeg uigedail is better. I bought it because I am a huge talisker fan, it's good but the uigedail just has more flavor. And it's cheaper
Nose full of peat smoke, leather with citrus and cherry notes flickering around. Neat, the peppered peat literally makes a circle around the whole tongue. Palate not hugely complex, again pepper, peat and wood smoke, old ropes and a little iodine. Long finish with mainy pepper and wood (a little chili?). Awesome! That said, when you get a good bottle of the 10 year old at £25 at times, that is also pretty awesome and half the price. However, I don't think the 10 could ever ride the 57% alcohol wave and have the palate survive.
Like licking a bbq coal, once it has cooled of course, that had been soaked in pork chop and hot dog dripping. Sweet, citrusy, smokey and nearing the limits of earthly superlatives.
