From the Isle of Skye comes this Talisker single malt, which has spent 18 years in casks which previously held bourbon and sherry. A sweet and smoky malt, a must have for any Talisker fan. If you weren’t already convinced, this fabulous dram picked up the title Best Whisky in the World at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards too.
Quite clean and fresh. There is a mixed fruity sweetness with a spicy character. The peat and smoke rise with notes of perfume and thick oak. Hints of Calvados and a touch of acidity with ground ginger.
Thick, rich and full-bodied. Notes of spicy, peppery oak, espresso beans and wood smoke. A little allspice creeps in, there is a certain zesty character lurking somewhere. The spice builds and builds with utter intent.
Long, with peppery oak.

Sensational!!!! This is the Scotch my father would drink if I shared it. Warms my heart and makes my think of a seaside castle. Oh and hang on because the flavor evolves for some time. The folks that created this highland vacation in a bottle have earned my respect.
Every Winter Solstice the Mariners Hockey Club gathers on the end of the Warrnambool breakwater to pay homage the mariners who have lost their lives at sea. Warren Day, a legend of the club, would read poetry in his booming voice, take his 18 year old Talisker and brazenly hold it to the stormy sky to toast the seafaring ghosts and warm the cockles of his heart. This is a legendary whisky. A legendary taste. For legendary men.
Couldn't find a better balanced peated whisky if you tried. Well spiced (ginger), well salted (sea salt, brine?), and the slightest touch of sweetness too (salted toffee). I recently featured this whisky for a tasting and it didn't last long at all.
Bought at talisker my 18 year old is gone .... fruits oak und at least i can smell the salt of the sea ....the wind does his work at the warehouse so you to buy the next ones ...enjoy
This is worse than 10yo, Storm or (dare I say it) Skye?? Unpleasant aftertaste and nothing much to offer on the palate. I will definitely not buy this ever again.
