Bottled as part of Diageo's 2014 Special Releases, this is a 1988 vintage Strathmill single malt Scotch whisky, matured in refill American oak casks for 25 years. 2,700 bottles were produced. This is the first time Strathmill has been featured in the Special Releases - we're sure you'll welcome it with open arms.
Gingernut biscuits at first, becoming more creamy with clotted cream fudge, lemon peel and brown sugar, then into lemon sorbet.
More brown sugar notes, bison grass, some sharper citrus and thinly spread thyme honey.
A zingy menthol finish.
Undoubtedly a solid Diageo Special Release debut.
Delicious, creamy, very very nice from start to finish.
