Single Malt
Scotland

What happens to the small portions of spirit that are left over after bottling and blending? There's sometimes so little it might seem like a bit of a conundrum as to how to ensure they don't go to waste, or get forgotten forever gathering dust. Step in Forgotten Gems, this indie bottler doesn't shy away from small outturns, there are just nine bottles of this 21-year-old single malt from Strathmill.
Vibrant barley, a herbaceous touch of lemongrass, floral honey, and cooked stone fruits, with citrus and liquorice beneath.
Creamy custard, charred oak, and vanilla join waves of melted milk chocolate, while dustings of festive spice and sweet fruit cake gather in the depths.
A mellow finish with notes of banana bread and Custard Cream biscuits.
