Strathisla 12 Year Old is a fruity and sherry-rich single malt from one of the oldest Scottish distilleries in operation (and a very handsome one at that - the pair of pagodas atop Strathmill make for a very striking image on the horizon). A perfect single malt for people new to the wonders of whisky,as its easy to sip and enjoy the sweet toffee flavour.
Soft oak and hints of candied peel. A little floral character too, with notes of spice and Danish pastries.
Malty core with notes of sultanas and cinnamon pastries. Allspice, cooked apple and mince pies.
Long finish. Very fruity.
A good all-rounder - excellent value for money...

I bought this in sweden by advice from the monopoly "systembolaget" and i got to say i should have chosen Ancnoc instead of this... The alcoholic taste takes the upper hand of this. Even if there is some tastes the taste of alcohol does it to much on the bad side. I would like to give it a 2 but the price is the only thing keeping me from it. Dont buy this, mainstream shit that shivas have optimized just for the books.
This is good to have in your cabinet among the other whiskies and try it from time to time. Not a favorite one, it Worths its price, it's delicate and smooth but that's all I Think. You don't get a "wow" taste in the mouth but it tastes better than the balvenie double Wood in my opinion rating 6 + half Point for the price
Preferred the previous edition with its 43% content and unique bottle. The new edition is still good value but not sure why they went mainstream in taste and looks.
Compared to the "old" bottling; they have lowered alc.%, switched from an awesome looking bottle to a clean and boring mainstream bottle... and increased the price... please...
À very nice single malt, awsome! If you like fruity whiskeys. Well made, great plats and wonderful finish.
