Strathisla 12 Year Old is a fruity and sherry-rich single malt from one of the oldest Scottish distilleries in operation (and a very handsome one at that - the pair of pagodas atop Strathmill make for a very striking image on the horizon). A perfect single malt for people new to the wonders of whisky,as its easy to sip and enjoy the sweet toffee flavour.
Soft oak and hints of candied peel. A little floral character too, with notes of spice and Danish pastries.
Malty core with notes of sultanas and cinnamon pastries. Allspice, cooked apple and mince pies.
Long finish. Very fruity.
A good all-rounder - excellent value for money...

Very smooth whiskey We decided to try it for New Year’s Eve Highly recommended Has a subtle taste of Chiva’s but matured and perfected to such a smooth fine tasting whiskey
It's got an amazing nose bit really lacks flavour. I guess it's a brilliant base malt for blending or easing people into whisky.
Great whisky
This has been my fathers favourite whisky for decades. I decided to review it after reading some of the quite bizarre reviews that are on here. No I don't work for Chivas Regal. Personally I like my whiskies to have a bit more character - I am more of a Islay Malt fan, but if you prefer smooth delicate malts then this is one of the smoothest. I can understand some whisky drinkers finding it a bit too delicate, but among speyside malts I would rate it as excellent, especially at this price. Whenever I visit my father I always appreciate a glass ;)
Bloody marvellous! A bargain.
