Strathisla 1964 (Gordon and MacPhail)
A first fill sherry hogshead matured 1964 vintage from the Strathisla distillery. This was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail. Nicely smoky, the sherry provides great balance.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
The nose is quite tight and compact with notes of mixed peels and rubbery tones, hints of winter spice and marmalade with a little golden syrup and sherried sultanas. The palate is full and tight. There are notes of marmalade and sherried fruits, a hint of creosote hangs pleasantly in the mix with a good level of sweetness and whirling smoke. The finish is quite refined and subtle with a little oaken spice.
