HAH Whisky
Scotland
A single cask single grain from the Strathclude distillery, bottled by The Higginbottom. Henry Albert Higginbottom supplied his Club Whisky to British troops back in the late 1800s, and his great-great-grandson is bringing the name back to whisky with this series of independent bottlings. This whisky was matured in a bourbon barrel for 27 years, before being bottled with an outturn of 250 bottles.
Waxy orange, heavy vanilla and a hint of treacle.
Pear drops, icing sugar, cedar and jam doughnuts.
Slightly floral, though brown sugar notes keep it sweet.
It was tempting to write 1☆ so nobody else buys the last remaining bottles of this in the world, and leave them for me. instantly reminded me of the Redbreast 21. Beautiful. Oily, long finish. Only a shame that it's a 50cl. And now also out of stock.
