An early 2019 release of 12 year old cask strength single malt from Springbank! These releases are always a treat, showing off the powerful flavour profile of Springbank's malt brilliantly. This time, the distillers have deviated from their usual cask recipe, drawing 50% of the whisky from bourbon casks and 50% from sherry casks (previous editions have been aged in 30% bourbon casks and 70% sherry casks).
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Massive helpings of butterscotch and oat-raisin cookies, with whiffs of oak-rich smoke developing in the background.
Salted caramel shortbread, tomato stem, mince pie and cedar.
Lasting coastal air, nutmeg and honey.

Excellent
A simply stunning dram, nose, palate and finish are outstanding. Big bold flavours that are perfectly balanced
One of my all time favourite whiskies
