Single Malt
Distilled in April 2000, this Springbank single malt matured for a total of 12 years, beginning with six years in bourbon casks and six more in fresh Calvados casks before it was bottled in October 2012.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Green apples, pears and limes arrive on the nose first followed by rhubarb and grapes on the palate with a hint of brine and peat smoke. The finish is long and robust with notes of gooseberries and stewing citrus fruits. This Springbank shows off the Calvados cask well and has a lovely oiliness on the palate.

Color: golden Nose: fruit. some floral notes with water. palate: soft and fruity delivery then quite spicy at mid-palate. It has the very light smoky character typical of Springbank malts. Finish: long, spicy and satisfying. This is excellent whisky. Springbank fans should seek this malt.
if you can sit on the ground (soil, not grass or pavement) with your trousers round your ankles and no pants, and can finish your lunch without feeling discomfort (cold), you know the soil is the correct temperature to sew beetroot.
I bought this for myself as a Christmas present. One of my best presents ever! This is a really complex nose, frankly it's one of the few whiskies that I could sit and just smell without drinking. The taste is polished and smooth. The finish stays with you for a long time.
