    Hazelburn 10 Year Old

Part of the Hazelburn core range, this is a 10 year old bottling of Hazelburn single malt Scotch whisky from the Springbank distillery in the Campbeltown region. It is triple distilled, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

Hazelburn is one of three styles of whisky produced at Springbank, known for being triple distilled and unpeated, whereas Springbank single malt is distilled two-and-a-half times and is lightly peated, and Longrow single malt is twice distilled and heavily peated.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Toffee apples, fresh honey and fragrant pears. Hints of vanilla.

    Palate

Good mouthfeel paired with bright notes of vanilla and Crunchie bars. More lively fruit notes underneath.

    Finish

Oily and sweet on the finish.

    Overall

Early evening dramming, this one. Relaxed and flavoursome.

    Top-notch dram!

At this very moment I am enjoying my second dram of this rather remarkable whisky (stopping after one would be out of the question!). Instantly intriguing on the nose and palate, then keeps delivering more with each subsequent visit to the glass. So much more to this than simply Springbank without the peat. Highly recommended!

top whisky from a great distillery

nice oily mouthfeel; plenty of vanilla and honey, plus a fair bit of spice. a sp-lash of water opens it up more and is advised by me. top whisky from a great distillery. struth

    Buy it while you can

Amazing, in a few years this will be far more expensive

    If u know u know

Still find it hard to believe that people pay double the price of this whisky for inferior products with colouring added chill filtered and 40% vol, when this beauty is available. Everything whisky should be. Buy it if you want good whisky, if not leave it for those who know. Well done yet again Springbank.

Cambridge Whisky Nut says (on the 2019 bottling):

A monster of an expression of proper Campbeltown/West Highland malt. Don't make the mistake thinking it's Irish style or Auchentoshan like because it is triple distilled. It's a fat, oily spirit carrying loads and loads of flavour! This is a masterful malt which achieves being dry, rich, and savoury at the same time thanks to showcasing the expert use of casks to allow the spirit to shine through. On the nose a wonderful aroma of paraffin and dry toffee with the slightest hint of trademark Springbank fruit. The taste is big - BIG - with lovely briny/salt notes to accompany the richness of the malty/toffee/slight fruit notes. Now tried 3 different bottlings of Hazelburn 10, and keeps getting better year to year. A must for any proper whisky aficionado!
