    Hazelburn 10 Year Old

Part of the Hazelburn core range, this is a 10 year old bottling of Hazelburn single malt Scotch whisky from the Springbank distillery in the Campbeltown region. It is triple distilled, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

Hazelburn is one of three styles of whisky produced at Springbank, known for being triple distilled and unpeated, whereas Springbank single malt is distilled two-and-a-half times and is lightly peated, and Longrow single malt is twice distilled and heavily peated.

Toffee apples, fresh honey and fragrant pears. Hints of vanilla.

Good mouthfeel paired with bright notes of vanilla and Crunchie bars. More lively fruit notes underneath.

    Finish

Oily and sweet on the finish.

    Overall

Early evening dramming, this one. Relaxed and flavoursome.

Very good indeed. But, why peat?

With this one, as happened with the 12 yo I felt peat. I'm wrong? If I'm correct and this whisky is unpeated, how I get that flavour? Or we are talking about a similar flavor but not necessarly peat? I'm confuse now, I admit. But, apart of this, I found it sophisticated and clean with the right amount and well integrated peat (In the 12yo that flavour is more pronounced). Very good indeed. Apart from being a quality single malt, it's also tripel distilled, natural colour, unchillfiltered, and malt dryed with warm air (and what about the peat flavour I feel, anybody can explain? Thanks in advance)

The cleanness and quality of the spirit shines through here. A fantastic whisky.

Can't wait to try Killkeren if it's half as good it will be great.

Bought my first bottle of this in Calgary Alberta and Leigh my host in Calgary agreed with me that this is one of the finest malts we have ever tasted.Springbank 10 is awesome Longrow is lovely but this takes the crown of the Springbank produce. If you haven't tried it ,get it on it won't dissapoint you.It says upeated but I and my friends say definitely a whiff of smoke in the Finish.
