Green Spot Single Pot Still

Green Spot is a fabulous single pot still whiskey and much loved by the critics. This Irish whiskey has come far from the days when it was only sold in Mitchell's grocer shop in the heart of Dublin, though its flavour profile is still just as robust. The whiskey has matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.

Nose

Hints of peppermint, malt, sweet barley, sugary porridge, creamy vanilla, papaya and citrus.

Palate

Spicy and soft, gentle bourbon oak, green woods, menthol, potpourri.

Finish

Creamy, long finish, vanilla.

Very nice & moorish.

First single pot still I've tried from Green Spot & the creaminess had me straight away. Certainly one I'll be buying again, great value too.

Good but thin

Tried a bottle of Yellow spot Dec 2022 and loved it. Immediately bought Green Spot and wanted to love it, but found it thin. Flavor is overall nice, but midpalate lacks flavor/development/complexity, and finish is just short. As if it was watered down. Batch variation perhaps?

A potable whiskey

I don’t normally like the taste of whiskey but this one won me over. My husband was introduced to it during a stay at Ashford Castle in County Galway.
