Green Spot is a fabulous single pot still whiskey and much loved by the critics. This Irish whiskey has come far from the days when it was only sold in Mitchell's grocer shop in the heart of Dublin, though its flavour profile is still just as robust. The whiskey has matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.
Hints of peppermint, malt, sweet barley, sugary porridge, creamy vanilla, papaya and citrus.
Spicy and soft, gentle bourbon oak, green woods, menthol, potpourri.
Creamy, long finish, vanilla.
I am the big fan of Jameson but can not drink the green spot. There must be something wrong with my bottle because it is tasteless and all I can smell is just alcohol. Did not buy it from master of malt and don't want to spoil the rating but for my bottle I would rate 1 star.
A very nice whiskey, which makes me think will my next purchase be the Yellow Spot ! Very probably.
Best Whiskey you can get for £40. Tastes good, powerful taste with a range of tangy and zingy flavours. Makes the mouth and nose come alive and can be truly savoured. Perfect after dinner or a long day treat.
Unusually light for a single pot still whiskey, this is a great take on the style, a very approachable and delicious sipping whiskey. One of my favorites. Absolutely worth picking up a bottle.
Smooth and soft, lovely neat or with a touch of water. I get a sweet smell and a nice balanced flavour with a bit of everything. Smooth and warming finish. Just having one isn't an option.
