Green Spot is a fabulous single pot still whiskey and much loved by the critics. This Irish whiskey has come far from the days when it was only sold in Mitchell's grocer shop in the heart of Dublin, though its flavour profile is still just as robust. The whiskey has matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.
Hints of peppermint, malt, sweet barley, sugary porridge, creamy vanilla, papaya and citrus.
Spicy and soft, gentle bourbon oak, green woods, menthol, potpourri.
Creamy, long finish, vanilla.

This is a very fine everyday/anyday whiskey. For me, this is one of those Whiskeys that combines elements of other favorite whiskeys making it perfectly drinkable anytime. It has so much to offer, it very often tastes different with each sip depending on what I do with air, placement, and swallow. Amazing product with outstanding fruitiness derived from the Sherry casks. I'm now getting a peaches and cream on the finish long after swallow ... truly a Chimera. Need to try the Yellow Spot to compare which is the better value.
It was last bottle on the shelf, so that helped me make my decision Everyone in Santana Premium Cigars was quiet until they tasted it. This whiskey was excellent. Wonderfully smooth and great on the palate. Pairs great with your favorite cigar!
Green Spot is amazing. As is the Bordeaux Cask, though my friend’s review of the Green Spot (Bordeaux Cask Finish): "Compared to Green Spot, which is awesome, it's not 'girl pulling on your balls before you finish' but it's good."
Purchased this single malt after a few discussions and my opinion of this gem of a single malt from Ireland is complex apples cinnamon clean and smooth. Smooth as in a delicious swirl in the mouth and smack bang green apples oak tenacious after burn only slight yet lingering lets you know and value for money. A great single pot still malt with great characteristics. One for the shelf....indeed
I've recently received a bottle of Green Spot. Everything is what I expected, the nose somewhat complex and palet friendly; however, I found it almost too neutral and almost watery. Sadly, the only Irish comparison I can make is Jameson Caskmates stout edition, which personally was smoother and more complex.
