Green Spot is a fabulous single pot still whiskey and much loved by the critics. This Irish whiskey has come far from the days when it was only sold in Mitchell's grocer shop in the heart of Dublin, though its flavour profile is still just as robust. The whiskey has matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon casks as well as sherry casks.
Hints of peppermint, malt, sweet barley, sugary porridge, creamy vanilla, papaya and citrus.
Spicy and soft, gentle bourbon oak, green woods, menthol, potpourri.
Creamy, long finish, vanilla.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned bananas. To me this has a very strong banana flavor to it, on the nose, palate, and finish. It's especially noticeable if you water it down to about 30%. I'm not a big fan of banana flavor and I find this overpowering, drowns out everything else. I don't notice that flavor in the redbreast, as a comparison.
This is a wonderful Whiskey, very easy to drink. Brought a couple of bottles back from Shannon..
got a bottle of green spot yesterday $45.00 usd.it tasted to just like redbreast 12 yr,i know it's from the same distillery.for the $3.00 dollars more i'll stick with the redbreast, but a great whiskey
Outstanding!!
I didn't much care for Redbreast, and had given up on Irish whiskey, but then I tried the Spot. Wow, it's so powerful (yet smooth), you'd think it was cask strength, but the label says 40%. It's as good as they say it is.
