A Connoisseurs Choice bottling of Speyburn single malt, distilled right at the end of the 1980s. From 1989 to 2013, the whisky slumbered in refill Sherry hogsheads until it was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail.
Sugary-coated almonds, thick malt and hints of vanilla. Thyme honey appears a little later on.
Orange peel sweetness, paired with baking spices and chocolate.
A medium length finish.
A lovely little Speysider, this is.

On the nose and the initial taste is very delicate but leads to a long lasting finish. It could be very easy to drink this dram as it's so smooth. I picked a bottle up for £50 and it's lovely. More than this and I'd want more bang for my buck.
