Speyburn 12 Year Old 2006 (batch 19/042) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
An indie bottling of Speyburn, distilled in 2006 and left to spend its day in a single refill sherry butt. After 12 years, in January 2019 Gordon & MacPhail bottled the fruity and spicy whisky at cask strength. A limited 634 bottles weigh in at 59.2% ABV, released as part of the Connoisseurs Choice series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Loads of classic aromas of dried fruit, baking spice, chocolate covered marzipan and banana bread.
Palate
Dark chocolate coated candied ginger, gentle chilli spice, creamy milk chocolate praline, Christmassy roasted chestnut.
Finish
Sweet notes of milk chocolate and more dried fruit.
