Bradan Orach is Gaelic for Golden Salmon, the very best kind of salmon. A no age statement Speyburn, named for the River Spey, a great spot for salmon fishing.
Fruity, malty. Orchard fruits, blossom, hints of light citrus, creamy.
Fruity and balanced. Lots of creamy vanilla, hints of spice. Oak.
Quite long, oak, spice.

Well, I don't think your tasters were drinking the same bradan orach that I am supping now. I'm getting some caramel but also a definite reduced sulphur kick...reminds me of a spring in the Castle Grounds of Stornoway, used by seafarers of the past. The water comes from a peat bog. Maybe that's what feeds Speyburn. It's different and I'm getting to like it. Definitely a bit young and raw, but I like that too.
Rough. Sure, it’s a single malt. But it’s just too young, thin and rough to be enjoyable. Add a little more for the 10 Year old. Or a little less for a decent blend.
I would have done better with a bottle of Teachers....even cheap Bells is better than that.
Bought another 2 bottles of this whisky this morning when I went to local Spar shop for bread rolls. A fine dram in the evening for a night-cap, and at £18 per bottle it is a good buy.
I am not a Scotch whisky expert, believe me. I have tried the 10 yr old and it is wonderful! Thought I would sample this because of the description, and the fact that the other Speyburn product is so good. Anyway, I think that this very young spirit is terrific! Exactly what I expected. It is too bad a lot of the experts say it is too young to drink yet. I think (and I don't know) that this is "price point" whisky for Speyburn. Well it works for my budget! Thanks!
