This 10 year old single malt was a gold medal winner at the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A classic from the Speyburn distillery.
A fruity nose with hints of orange, mandarin and cooking apple. A touch of oak, peppermint and spice.
A light, gentle palate with soft malt, sweet, toasty barley with liquorice and dried herbs.
Just a touch of smoke trails off on the finish.

I tasted that dram for the first time yesterday. My girlfriend got me a bottle of this and a bottle of Highland Park 12 to celebrate the end of my bachelor degree. This scotch is really smooth and lovely. I get a hint of pears towards the end. Really like it.
I cannot give this whisky less than full score. For this price its a darn Good value. And besides that it is also way better than Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12 Even if IT was at The same prøve. Speyburn 10 is firstfilled in quality casks.
Starting to explore the realm of cheaper single malts because I have tried virtually all the mid level stuff and cannot afford anything over 18 years old at the rate I drink the stuff so figured I'd give this a try and for $23 I'm very impressed. First of all it's actually bottled at 43% Abv which gives it points in my book as well as a little more depth and flavor. M.o.m got the tasting notes right tho some orchard fruit , pine needles, mint, very light smoke ,touch of honey and a floral/herbal finish. Surprisingly good for the money I will definitely buy more of this great alternative to glenlivet 12 as a cheap go to whisky. The sugarbear
Damn good booze. Got that raisin taste I like in a good scotch. Will pick up another bottle when it's on sale.
This is the very best value with the highest quality taste in a single malt. Just wanted to try something new and I am now glad I did.
