What better way to mark another cracking Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival is there than to release a limited-edition, single cask whisky? Spey took some tasty 6-year-old spirit here and finished it in oloroso casks to bring something sweet, nutty, and rich compliments to the bold, young 58.3% ABV spirit.
A big fruit salad dusted in cinnamon is joined by vanilla, malt, and peppery spice.
More dried fruit and sweet spice, as well as some fresh herbal notes from peppermint.
Oily walnut lingers.
