A single malt Scotch whisky with some mystery behind it here from South Star Spirits. It was distilled on Islay back in 2013, and aged for eight years, before being drawn from ten hogshead casks to complete this bottling. However, we don't know which distillery on Islay produced it. Perhaps you can figure it out by tasting it, or perhaps you'll simply enjoy the whisky and the mystery.
Earthy smoke, with fragrant malt and some coastal salinity.
Salted caramel, vanilla tablet, seaweed, and shortbread.
Roasted nuts and a hint of ash.

The tasting notes on this relatively young whisky are spot on. The coastal salty influence is up front, background sweetness and a mellow ash finish, the oak comes through. Great value for the money.
