A splendid blended malt, Sheep Dip is comprised of over a dozen Scotch single malts that have been matured for at least five years in a variety of first-fill sherry, first-fill bourbon, and refill oak casks. Great retro packaging too. The only thing is, the picture of the sheep on the bottle doesn't actually look like a sheep, it actually looks like an angry spaniel with horns.
Fragrant with notes of the coast, tangy, malty, honey, toffee. Youthful.
Rich, warming, malty, young and spirity.
Punchy, tangy.
I enjoyed it, a nice easy sipper. Bought it for dad and encouraged sharing - excellent choice, me. The box annoyed me with the wrong spelling though - feint instead of faint!
It's nice, but harsher & stronger caramel taste than I'd like at the price for a blended malt.
This reminded me of Kilchoman Loch Gorm at half the price. Excellent value.
A great way to introduce folks to scotch. Honey and caramel. Smooth from front to back, Low smoke. At 40 bucks it's a great bargain
I admit to buying it because of the name as I thought it would be a good conversation bottle on my shelf. Then I took a drink and was surprised at how smooth it is, with a touch of fruit and a little pepper at the back of the throat. It is smooth enough that my non scotch drinking guests enjoyed it immensely.
