A splendid blended malt, Sheep Dip is comprised of over a dozen Scotch single malts that have been matured for at least five years in a variety of first-fill sherry, first-fill bourbon, and refill oak casks. Great retro packaging too. The only thing is, the picture of the sheep on the bottle doesn't actually look like a sheep, it actually looks like an angry spaniel with horns.
Fragrant with notes of the coast, tangy, malty, honey, toffee. Youthful.
Rich, warming, malty, young and spirity.
Punchy, tangy.
Fragrant, smooth and light. A perfect drop anytime
A little light, without depth but still agreeable, spicy with a fruity zing, good value.
Fruity, tangy, spirity, fresh. I liked it and its good value
Normally a JW Black drinker, but looking to expand my horizons. A nice Whiskey, altho a little light-bodied. A little biscuity taste with a smoke finish. Very easy to drink. Definitely a keeper esp for the price!
I originally had low expectations of this, due to cost, 40% ABV, and a few negative reviews, but it is truly a hidden gem. Quite fruity, tangy, and not too much smoke. "Old Pulteney 12" immediately came to mind, which is what it reminded me of first and foremost. Definitely does not drink like a 40% ABV, which could be due to its youth.
