A splendid blended malt, Sheep Dip is comprised of over a dozen Scotch single malts that have been matured for at least five years in a variety of first-fill sherry, first-fill bourbon, and refill oak casks. Great retro packaging too. The only thing is, the picture of the sheep on the bottle doesn't actually look like a sheep, it actually looks like an angry spaniel with horns.
Fragrant with notes of the coast, tangy, malty, honey, toffee. Youthful.
Rich, warming, malty, young and spirity.
Punchy, tangy.
brought this for a friend. had to try it and it's great. ended up having to buy a bottle for him as this did not last long. headache the following morning
My son in law had a sample bottle from his parents liquor cabinet clean out. It could be 25 years old! I have not been a fan of blends.. until now. It was a truly delightful experience on ice. I'm going out to buy a bottle today!
The bottle claims this is a blend of 16 single malt scotches. I have a rather vast collection of single malts, and the only way to achieve a taste this bad from fine single malts... is to actually dip a sheep in the blend. Question... do they also sell a remedy to get the terrible after taste from my mouth?
It tasted like straight alcohol totally unbalanced and raw. One would have to best desperate to drink to imbibe a second session; Like a fool who walks through the waif of a friend's annouced flatulence just to attest, I swilled this s@!t whisky, again. Yeah, as terrible this try, too. I will never buy this rot gut whisky, again. What a waste of money/time.
A very nice blend with a difference - full fruity nose and interesting complex taste. First couple of tastes were lovely, but when I added ice it opened up some very strange flavours at first. I got cold black tea at one point, which was quite disappointing and took me half a bottle to shake. Happy to report that my fixation with this taste, and the taste itself, eventually passed. Once you taste something in a whisky it's hard to shake, but it did go. Don't be put off at all - this is very nice stuff indeed.
