A splendid juxtaposition of sweet peat smoke and sherry collide in Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire & Sherry Casks & Cask Strength 10 Year Old from the ampersand adoring gang at &Whisky! Matured for a decade, this batch of the smoky Islay single malt was fully finished in sherry casks, bringing decadent layers of dried fruit and cakey spice to join coastal waves of powerful peat and salted peanuts at its core. Bottled at natural cask strength, you get bonus ampersands, bonus sherry, and bonus strength here. This whisky really does have it all and more.
Herbaceous peat and dense aged fruit cake lead the charge, joined by notes of dark salted chocolate, mocha, and pebbly minerality.
Hearty helpings of Medjool dates and plump raisins, powerful peat, and salty sea breeze. Mature oak brings notes of linseed, with cinnamon warmth, while smoky salted peanuts nestle beneath.
Sweet peat smoke lingers, with marmalade, rich, roasty oak char, earthy coffee, Brazil nuts, and boozy hot chocolate

The flavours are amazing. Lovely Smokey aftertaste with sweet tones. Would definitely recommend.
Yup, this one is definitely a Caol Ila, I'd say. Likely an ex bourbon, finished in a refill sherry butt. Very refined, but robust rich favours, with subtle, minerally peat, without it being medicinal. Very good stuff. 88/100.
Lovely dram! I left the bottle open for a couple of hours before sampling. Not too overpowering for a cask strength but in my opinion better with a drop of water. I’d recommend people try this but I think it’s in the same ball park as Uigeadail, which you can get for cheaper (only reason I’ve rated it 4) I’m half way through the bottle and it’ll be gone before Christmas.
A really fresh, sharp whisky with a clean finish.
This is up there together with the very best of the existing core peated/sherry offerings around. It's somewhat of a hybrid between Uigeadail and Laphroaig Sherry Finish, but overall a very welcome addition to my collection. Highly recommended!
