Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire

Feast your eyes on the fifth batch of Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire & Cask Strength 10 Year Old! If Islay single malt is your thing, then you've uncovered a cracking whisky right here. There are no hints to be seen as to which distillery on the legendary island is responsible for this single malt, though what we do know is that it's a brilliant expression which has had 25% of it finished in sherry casks, introducing a helping of dried fruit sweetness to the peaty situation. It's also been bottled up at cask strength, making for a full-on flavour profile worthy of that additional ampersand.
Bold notes of petrichor and coastal air, dotted with dried fruit and candied ginger.
The palate remains densely packed with earthy peat, mocha, jammy sultana, and a smidge of peppercorn.
Maritime notes of seaweed linger, with wafts of cinnamon sneaking through.
It's Islay brilliance all the way through, right here!

This totally took me by surprise, a really good Islay sipper and dangerous at 57.2% as this is super smooth and easy to drink. Fantastic on the nose and the tongue and a beautiful finish. Top marks with this one MoM.
This is amazing. It's somewhere in-between Laphroaig Lore and Ardbeg Uigeadail, with regards to nose and pallette, and could easily go toe to toe with anything from either of those distilleries. The finish goes on forever.
As ever, your tasting notes are spot on. This is a really lovely dram - warming with multiple layers of taste. Nice and peaty (in an earthy, smokey way, not in a medicinal TCP way). Sweet, salty, deep, rich feel. Very lucky to have bought it in your Black Friday sale as the price is a little steep, but I'd definitely buy again for a special occasion.
