This right here is a 10-year-old single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Islay, with 25% of it having been finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks, and bestowed the decidedly descriptive name Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire. If those four words (and three ampersands) aren't quite enough of an explanation of what this expression is all about, here are a few more: stripped-back, smoky, complex, a bit sherried, balanced, coastal. Yeah, that should do it. Great for people who love uncompromising Islay whisky and sans-serif fonts.
Rich, powerful sherry with a well-integrated core of peat. Solid.
Well-balanced but extremely forceful on delivery. The sherry makes itself known in a really good way.
Red apple sweetness gives way to oaken-vanilla goodness and fades elegantly into the embers of a chargrilled well-aged steak.
A thoroughly impressive dram. One would be forgiven for mistaking it for an OB with another 5 years of age on it.

It says forceful, it is . A bit of a marmite - I liked it it a lot. I can see why others may not , I think it is an excellent purchase for £32
I love this whisky. It’s smoky as hell leaves a deep taste in your breath for at least a minute after a taste. If you love the earthy smoke whisky then this is for you. If i had to guess I’d say it was a caol ila special release.
Decent enough whisky. Had a few friends over for a bbq, popped tbe cork and the bottle was gone by tbe end of tbe day.Just a quaffable sweet and smoky whisky, not anywhere near 5 stars for me but would still happily buy again. As far a VFM goes its OK, you can probably do a lot better with just a few more quid. For an enjoyable every day dram you could do a lot worse
This is by far the worst product I have ever bought. The taste is best described as tyre fire. Seriously, I had to throw the rest away and rinse my sink with bleach to get rid of the horrific, chemical "smoke" scent. Absolutely disgusting.
I think that I expected this to be something that it wasn’t. I’m almost definitely an Islay dram fan and I was expecting this to be a real leathery wingback cigar smokey Caramel and sherry tongue curling mouth punch you’d expect. But I found it to be quite surprisingly rounded with a real umami salty meaty undertone that reminded me of salted liquorice. Bribe soaked toffee apple baked on an open fire. Very unique and a whole lot of bang for your buck. My first taste was surprise My second tase was..... well moorish. It’s gone now ?
