This right here is a 10-year-old single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Islay, with 25% of it having been finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks, and bestowed the decidedly descriptive name Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire. If those four words (and three ampersands) aren't quite enough of an explanation of what this expression is all about, here are a few more: stripped-back, smoky, complex, a bit sherried, balanced, coastal. Yeah, that should do it. Great for people who love uncompromising Islay whisky and sans-serif fonts.
Rich, powerful sherry with a well-integrated core of peat. Solid.
Well-balanced but extremely forceful on delivery. The sherry makes itself known in a really good way.
Red apple sweetness gives way to oaken-vanilla goodness and fades elegantly into the embers of a chargrilled well-aged steak.
A thoroughly impressive dram. One would be forgiven for mistaking it for an OB with another 5 years of age on it.

Marvellous, very sweet wine to start, then transitions to medium smoke with a light coal tar on the finish which amplifies on residual after taste. A curious dual palate experience. Much lighter than other Islas but no less pleasing. Glad we tried it and will again.
This stuff is one of the very best Islay drams out there, but at a fraction of the price. If you want to actually drink good whisky rather than tell yer mates how rich you are by paying for fancy packaging then this is the shit you need. I actually quite like the basic packaging. Does what it says on the tin. I’m not sure how long this can continue to be made for this price, so I’m keeping a lot of bottles in the cellar in case it stops being made.
Just got this...absolutely wonderful Islay! Peaty but with a lovely syrupy sweet after taste. Great depth of flavour from a 10yr old.
What a lovely whisky! A wonderful balance of smoke, warmth and sweetness with hits of peat. Very smooth as well.
Brilliant whisky! When will it be available?
