This right here is a 10-year-old single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Islay, with 25% of it having been finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks, and bestowed the decidedly descriptive name Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire. If those four words (and three ampersands) aren't quite enough of an explanation of what this expression is all about, here are a few more: stripped-back, smoky, complex, a bit sherried, balanced, coastal. Yeah, that should do it. Great for people who love uncompromising Islay whisky and sans-serif fonts.
Rich, powerful sherry with a well-integrated core of peat. Solid.
Well-balanced but extremely forceful on delivery. The sherry makes itself known in a really good way.
Red apple sweetness gives way to oaken-vanilla goodness and fades elegantly into the embers of a chargrilled well-aged steak.
A thoroughly impressive dram. One would be forgiven for mistaking it for an OB with another 5 years of age on it.

A most interesting and tasty malt. Decidedly forceful delivery if not shown respect. The sweetness comes through but is not the final kick. Most enjoyable.
For the money, I didnt know what to expect but I thought it was worth a few of my pounds. When it arrived, the labelling made me chuckle but when I had my 1st sip, I was glad I'd made the purchase. It was everything I'd hoped it to be, peaty, sweet, smooth and utterly moorish. I noticed it was slightly cloudy which indicates non chill filtered. Brilliant price for a brilliant dram. A pity its sold out
Peat & sweet and smooth .and sold out ! !!....GUTTED.....for this price it’s excellent value ??....down to my last dram , need more stock please ?
Awesome value, much better than standard Isley 10/13 year bottling. A lot of sherry, peat, sweetness and impressive long aftertaste. Too bad it’s sold out! Make more!
So glad I managed to get this before it sold out. The bottle’s just arrived this afternoon, and lockdown is taking a real turn for the better. I’ll echo the the other positive reviews. This is an exceptional whisky. First impressions - there’s a wonderful welcoming caramel, dark oak, vanilla, even cherry, warmth to the finish, and is perfectly balanced with the heft of peat. I tried this whisky without my usual drop of water, tonight I intend to try this with a tiny amount of water, while I have fire in the garden. I imagine I’ll come away even more impressed. I’m sat in my garden under a blossoming apple tree in the sun listening to early Neil Young, and all I can say is this is the perfect accompaniment.. On a day like today in normal times I’d usually be found on my motorcycle, half way to Scotland, But these aren’t normal times - this whisky is the perfect tonic though. A heartfelt salute to this whisky’s creators.
