This Cigar Malt was specially selected by a panel in Glasgow, who chose from a shortlist of 10 incredible casks, selecting this as the best whisky which could both hold its own as a malt in its own right, and as a perfect accompaniment for a cigar. This was aged in a sherry butt number 3661, from an unnamed Speyside distillery. The result is rich plummy and is excellent when paired with a medium to full-bodied cigar.
Nose: Nutty and very rich with mixed conserves and custard, juniper berries, butterscotch and espresso coffee. Molasses, musty citrus and apple peels.
Palate: Marmalade, custard, dried fruits, custard, mixed fruit, sultanas, plum jam, wine, coffee.
Finish: Big and spicy, very long, and very rich finish with pepper and dark, stewed fruits.
