Scapa Jutland 16 Year Old - HMS Indefatigable

The Charity Auction has now ended.

This is a very special one-of-a-kind bottle of Scapa Jutland, a 16 year old single cask single malt, which has been named after HMS Indefatigable. The Scapa Jutland was released to mark the centenary of the Battle of Jutland and to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Scapa was used as a base by the British naval fleet during the First World War. The Battle of Jutland started on May 31st 1916, with ships from Orkney led by Admiral John Rushworth Jellicoe taking part in the battle. The Scapa Jutland was produced in association with the family of Admiral Jellicoe, and all profits from the release are being donated to the RNLI.

249 bottles of Scapa Jutland were released, with 11 named after ships from the British and German Navies which took part in the battle. The bottle which we are auctioning to raise further funds for the RNLI is the one bottle that has been named after HMS Indefatigable.

The proceeds (net of any applicable VAT) of the sale of this bottle of whisky will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a charity registered in England and Wales (209603), Scotland (SC037736) and the Republic of Ireland (20003326) of West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset BH15 1HZ. It is intended that the proceeds will be used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution to fund the volunteer crew training requirement at its lifeboat stations on the Orkney Isles, namely Longhope, Stromness and Kirkwall.
