    Nostalgia...

There are ways of being nostalgic - and here's mine. Years ago, when I would almost casually buy 12 year old Scapa from Oddbins once a month at thirty quid a bottle (when nobody else had ever heard of it) I never thought that it would become a cult whisky. And oh dear, do I miss it! This particular version is authentic Scapa - better by far from that point of view than the 16 year old - and I'm very happy to have it. But my beloved 12 year old, it isn't. But then, nothing else is, either. So, faute de mieux, as they say in Armagnac...

    scarpa its scapa

Great. Not everything from Orkney has to be Highland park. it has a young kick with a mature feel. If you like scapa 16 then this is a cheap version of what is now an incomprehensivly expensive 14. In fact value for money aside I think this is better than the 16.

    Favourite

I will admit that I do like the easy drank drams. this is right up my street! I had 14 samples before deciding I would track a bottle of this down if it killed me. if you ever get the chance to buy this... DO IT!

    Almost there

Nose: floral, hint of citrus Taste: no Apples , honey , not very complex No lingering taste revelation, Conclusion : plaesant & unchallenging, easy drinking malt Advice: try the scapa beer instead
