A 10-year-old single malt from Orkney's Scapa distillery! Matured in American oak, this one is rich with layers of vanilla, joined by heaps of tropical fruit and honeyed sweetness for a vibrant, characterful sipper that'll shine sipped neat, or stirred in the likes of a Scotch Old Fashioned.
A tropical welcome with oaken vanilla and toffee, joined by heaps of candied pineapple, dried mango, spiced banana bread, and citrus.
Honeyed fruits lead with a combo of the tropical varieties from the nose, alongside zesty citrus and crisp orchard fruits. Creamy coconut and chocolate balance woody spices beneath.
A creamy finish with layers of banana, vanilla custard, milk chocolate, and balanced oak char.

What an absolute stunner, my new favourite by some way. Good strength as a sipper but also responds well to an ice cube. I find it a bit savoury but that's good because most of my other drams are sherry based and some are just a touch too sweet. No smoke, no peat, I get some saltiness and yes maybe a little honey and yeah maybe some dried fruits but I don't really know what else I'm tasting - I just love it though! On offer in Waitrose currently but please don't buy it because I want it all.
Good stuff this. Fairly priced but if you can find it on offer it's a no brainer. (Currently £40 at a famous posh supermarket) Great nose...loads of apple and gooseberry. Abv ensures nice oily delivery. Fresh and vibrant. Finishes on a lime note but not too citrus. Good long finish. Would buy again.
