Sazerac Straight Rye 75cl Bottling Note

A classic straight rye whiskey, named for the New Orleans coffee house which was the birthplace of the eponymous cocktail - the one and only Sazerac. While it was originally made with Cognac, the Sazerac is particularly popular with a rye whisky (such as this fine example from the Buffalo Trace distillery) at its core.

Bland ..

Bland. A massive disappointment. Stay clear.

I'd Still Take Rittenhouse Rye BIB Over It...

...but make no mistake, this is a great whiskey.

Blink and you'll miss it

This silky smooth yet orange-spicy rye is amazing. Full stop. It's like an Old Fashioned in a bottle. There's a good reason it's only ever occasionally available and is limited to a single bottle per customer. On a completely superficial note, even the gorgeous bottle makes that deeply satisfying 'gug, gug, gug' noise that let's you know something unctuous is coming your way.

Seriously Special

To some this as a whiskey may come across a bit strong but in my opinion, the more you get to appreciate it for what it is, a unique whiskey, with a lot of sophistication, the more you learn to love it.. It rounds off very nicely on the tongue.. Its spicy and flavourful, filled with character.. Worth a try..

Beautifully different

Lovely, rare, and sophisticated taste of the South - highly recommended with Angostura Bitters. It's a rye whiskey, not a Scotch or Bourbon, so tastes unlike anything else, and very nicely of itself. Unique and special. Live once and try this.
