Swiss single malt from Säntis, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company - the very first Boutique-y batch from the distillery in Appenzell! Of course, they couldn't miss an opportunity to stuff a label with a load of reference to one particularly famous British super-spy...
Batch 1 is a release of 916 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Through toasted brown sugar and sticky treacle comes Bramley apple, cacao and brandy snaps. There’s a little drying barley and oak polish underneath.
Dried fruit, sweet earthiness and winter spice combine. Fruitcake, hazelnut and macaroons and slabs of milk chocolate bring depth among a touch of dried rose petal.
Ginger and nutmeg spice emerge from the backdrop to dry things slightly.
Very impressive stuff from Säntis - rich and rewarding.

So good. Very rich and complex. Chocolate, Red fruits, cinnamon and muffins all over this one. The finish starts dry and bitter and changes to sweet honey, long and easy. A bit expensive, but an A+ for TBWC here. W.R
Delicious stuff from the Swiss—I only wish I had more than the one dram sample! On par with Macallan and Glenfarclas.
