From the Sailor's Home Irish whiskey range comes The Journey, which features whiskey aged in virgin American oak casks then finished in bourbon barrels blended with malt whiskey aged in bourbon barrels then finished in Jamaican rum casks. An satisfying expression, bursting with vanilla, malt and baking spices.

Nose

Fudge, coffee cake, clove, apricot jam and vanilla custard.

Palate

More vanilla custard creaminess, supported by apple crumble and cinnamon sticks.

Finish

A touch of banana bread and salted butter.

a very happy Journey

smooth, warm, and very pleasant. I get soft notes of honey, vanilla, and caramel, with gentle oak and a touch of dried fruit on the finish. I enjoyed it a lot, will repeat my purchase again soon

Go to Irish Whiskey

This has immediately become my favourite weekday whiskey. It's very smooth but has good depth and the classic Irish notes you would expect. Good value too

Unique smooth dessert character

This Whisky is unique in that it achieves a smoothness I have not experienced before. The nose consists of vanilla custard and toffee fudge, the palate continues the vanilla custard and adds bread & butter pudding whilst the mouth feel is surprisingly smooth. The finish is just right with malt loaf and salted butter. This is an easy to drink, moreish Whisky with its own unique dessert orientated character.

Stunning finish

This has got to be one of my favourite Irish Whiskeys on the market right now. They’ve just got everything right, good amount of sweetness from the corn content with that big tropical finish from the Rum cask, loads of molasses and treacle rounding out this delightful Irish.
