This is an Irish whiskey that has enjoyed a finishing period in bourbon barrels before being bottled as part of the Peaky Blinder range from Sadler's. The name comes from a street gang that was around in the late 19th and early 20th Century, a member of which you can see on the label - note the all important cap, which apparently was where the gang name originates.
Blackcurrant and apple, with a hint of vanilla toffee underneath.
Melted chocolate, apricots, toasted oak and dried peels.
A subtle hint of cinnamon sticks around on the finish.
Got a bottle today along with the rum for my girlfriend, already ordering another bottle of the whiskey.
A palatable whiskey subtle in taste and genuine smoothness .
Smooth.....moreish....goes down with no burn....lovely taste!! Love it!!
I'm at the third bottle. I really enjoyed the first one. From the second I started to feel something unclear in the end. When compared to a basic Jameson or a single-grain Teeling, the comparison does not hold up in the final. Three stars for the pleasant nose and for the pleasant hints of fishing.
My tipple is Jamesons Irish whisky. Having been bought a bottle of Peaky Blinders Irish whisky I think my loyalty has changed.
