Released in March 2017, Roe & Co blended Irish whiskey marks Diageo's return to the Irish whiskey category having sold Bushmills a couple of years earlier. Roe & Co is bottled at 45% abv without chill filtration and is a blend of single malt and grain whiskeys matured exclusively in bourbon casks (a high proportion of which are first-fill).
Creamy, delightfully fragrant and remarkably rounded with notes of soft spice and mellow spun sugar along with warm hints of woody vanilla.
The quality and perfect balance of the blend is immediately apparent on the palate through its velvety texture and sweet flavours including spiced pears and vanilla.
Lingering and gentle, ending with a light creaminess.
I can't say a great deal about it as it doesn't linger in the memory, but it went down easy. If I were to blind drink it I would struggle to call it an Irish whiskey. In my novice drinking days I would have rated it higher and shown off by drinking it neat. I'll give it that, 45% neat.
After the first dram I thought it was not for me but the second one was a lot nicer Will be adding it to my wish list

An absolutely superb yet inexpensive whisky. Wonderful! Love it!
Surprisingly smooth -- pleasant balance of flavors, a little sweet, almost a bit of butterscotch in the finish. Extremely drinkable neat or with a bit of ice. I'll make a hot whiskey with some of it on the next cold night. Very fairly priced here in the USA. I'll buy it again.
