River Rock is a single malt Scotch whisky that is not only tasty, but presented with sustainability in mind. This approachable whisky is drawn from bourbon casks, and offers up warming fruit notes with hints of toasted marshmallow, and it comes in a uniquely-shaped bottle made with glass that would otherwise go to waste. The producers also plant a tree up in Scotland for every bottle sold!
Honey, milk chocolate, apricot, white grape, a smidge of subtle cedar.
Toasted marshmallow, more apricot, vanilla ice-cream, nutty brown bread.
Lemon and orange boiled sweeties, with a touch of oaky cinnamon.
Same as one of the previous reviews, I couldn't believe how bad this tasted from both the MoM tasting notes and other reviews. I've left it to sit for a few months as well and that hasn't improved it either. I don't get any sweetness/honey flavours whatsoever, in fact completely the opposite, harsh, alcohol and then the oak at the end. Like the other reviewer, I actually thought I must have got an off bottle, but it's totally put me off this whisky, I won't be buying again.
I bought this for my husband who loves a single malt and this is a real smooth non-fiery whisky where you can really taste the honey
Disappointed in this one. Did not have the flavours indicated in fact it was more like a bottle of blended and when in the glass it was much darker than the image shown. I do not like smokey, peaty malts so I always go for the lighter mellow malts. Perhaps it was just one of those bottles you get now and again or it just was not to my taste. The only way you know is to buy it and try it but I will not be purchasing this one again.
Could not believe how smooth this Whisky is. On my first sip I was expecting some “ throat impact” but it was such a pleasure to swallow it without any such sensation. There is also a lovely sweetness about it without being cloying. Look forward to drinking it for many years to come.
