Redwood Lost Monarch

This is the Lost Monarch whiskey from Redwood Empire, based in Sonoma County, California. It's a whiskey of two sides, being made with a blend of a rye whiskey and a bourbon whiskey, resulting in a well-balanced expression packed full of cinnamon, buttered corn, and caramel notes. This expression was named after the world's largest coastal redwood tree, which is cool. Big trees are great and that's a fact. Take it to the bank.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Chocolate mousse, caramel cooking in a pan, peppery rye spiciness in the background.

Palate Heavy vanilla, still backed up by warming spice and buttered corn.

Finish Toffee ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate sauce, cinnamon, dry oak.

Reviews for Redwood Empire Lost Monarch
Well balanced blend of bourbon and rye
Great pour. Can taste the separate parts from the bourbon and rye blend. Really well balanced. Would think a barrel proof of this would be incredible as it is a little thin but the flavours are still great. Easy to drink and interesting.
