A delightful single pot still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year Old is highly praised by a host of notable critics. Distilled at the Midleton site from malted and unmalted barley, it’s then matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts. We can't get enough of this multi-award-winning whiskey.
Nutty, rich and oily. There are notes of dried peels, ginger, linseed and cut fruits including a touch of melon.
Spicy with great body. Nuts and citrus (peel and juice) with hints of marzipan, dried fruits and a hint of Sherry. You turn it over in your mouth forever.
Long and creamy with custard and spice.

Overall, it tastes like a cognac, which is perfectly fine. But why don't just drink cognac?
Lovely Christmas cake flavours but great any time of year. Nice mouthfeel. Excellent single pot still example from Redbreast. It's worth trying the others in the range, Lustau and 15 YO - these offer more interest.
love it. Never had it before a grateful parent gifted it to me ( I tutor, well). Def my Irish of choice from now.
You can't really talk about Irish whiskey without bringing up Redbreast it really is a benchmark to which many other Irish whiskey is compared to. The nose is quite nutty with sugar coated almonds and pecans, apple poutporri, and wood oil. On the palate the flavor just explodes, so rich and oily you don't really want to swallow it just taste it forever. Marzipan, orange marmalade, heavy cream, slight hint of plum, and the long, oily creme brulee finish is just exquisite. Top notch pot still offering from Midleton, I have a hard time deciding whether I like this, green spot, or power's three swallow more I think it's really just wahtever I happen to be drinking at the time. Just awesome try this if you haven't already! Slainte! The Sugarbear
Good whisky, got plenty of sweetness upfront with red fruit predominant. However, it is accompanied by a Turpentine, white spirit sting that is not pleasant. This gives way to green apple and a kick of spiceness that is pleasant Bunna 12 is close to it in profile but after having completed a comparison, I conclude the Bunna to be more balanced and better. This is nothing to be ashamed of as Bunna 12 is one of the very best. As an Irishman, i feel like a turncoat saying this, but it's good, not great.
