A cask-strength edition of the beloved single pot still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 Year Old. Triple distilled in copper pot stills from a combination of malted and unmalted barley, the whiskey matured in a combo of American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak oloroso sherry butts before being bottled at cask strength, amping up all that classic, rich, rounded Redbreast character.

Winner
Very good. First time I've tried Redbreast- decided to follow the glowing reviews, and glad I did.
Power plus smoothness plus body.
Honey, vanilla, honeysuckle and spring flowers, tiny touch of lemon cough drops.
Massive, yet drinkable at full tilt. Easier going with a splash of water, just as you'd expect.

Wonderful
Really beautiful overall, I’m getting most of the nose sand most of the palate characteristics mentioned in the MoM review. But for me, being mainly a single malt guy, this whiskey is very much like a cross between two long defunct malts, the Lowland malt Bladnoch, with its lemony and fruity and citrusy flavors, and the rare Dallas Dhu 1980 bottlings with their up front chocolate and coffee and mocha flavors, which in the case of the Redbreast comes thru as a chocolate-mocha flavor in the finish. The cherry flavor here is also very nice, reminiscent of German Kirschwasser. Anyway, however one analyzes it, it’s an outstanding whiskey.

Fantastic - the best whiskey.
Review of B1/16 cask strength.
Possibly the best Irish I have ever tasted. Not cheap, but you get a LOT of whiskey for your money. Red apples, green barley, manuka honey, lovely creamy oak, tropical fruit.... and a finish that goes on and on.
There is a lot more to it, compared to the standard 12 y/o. Although the standard 12 is half the price (and a bargain). The only problem with the c/s bottle is making it last.
If you buy a 'good' bottle once a year, this should be the one.

Just get one of these, superb.
Sorry this one was the B2/19 ... brothers
Nose : cherries, raisins, a warm promise with complexity and depth.
Palate : A lovely oily smooth Christmas cake of fruit, spices bloom in the mid pallet.
A beautiful finish, lingering, a feeling of an older whiskey age than 12. depths of flavours. Simple but very elegant.

HAS POTENTIAL, BUT TOO DEAR!
Very good, but! Cask-Strength spirit needs a long time in wood to mellow and soften out the harsh edges. 12 years is not enough in the U.K. This is WELL over-priced for its age and needs at least another 3 years.
