Back by popular demand – and packing a serious punch at 61.6% ABV – this cask strength release showcases Raasay’s signature six-cask recipe (Na Sia). Peated and unpeated spirit matured separately in a mix of rye whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks. The result is bold, complex, and unapologetically flavourful single malt. With just 5,500 bottles released globally, non-chill filtered and natural colour, you'll want to get your hands on this soon.
The initial waft of smouldering heather and kiln smoke is quickly followed by sticky raisins, blackcurrant compote, and toasted rye bread. A sweet oakiness is underneath – think charred marshmallows, cinnamon bark, and red wine tannins.
Bold and oily with a spicy grip. Black cherries and plum jam lead the charge, backed by earthy peat smoke and cracked black pepper. Notes of dark chocolate, clove, and a hint of salted caramel emerge as it opens up. That virgin oak brings structure and a touch of dryness.
Long, warming, and slightly drying – the smoky and fruity elements linger together before a final flicker of cherry liqueur and cask char.
