This Isle of Raasay single malt was peated and then aged in a single oak cask that previously held American rye whiskey from Woodford Reserve Distillery. It uses 53% rye in its mash bill and has a spicy, fruity flavour with plenty of butterscotch, all of which is imparted into this Scotch whisky. This addition to the Na Sia Single Cask Series was bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered and natural colour.
Black pepper, butterscotch, lemon peel, raspberry, oak char, and a little peppermint.
Sweet spices lead with toffee, coconut, blackcurrant cough sweets, wood smoke, and herbs.
Full of spice and thick caramel sweetness.
