Batch one of the Isle of Raasay Distillery's single malt is here! Distilled, matured, and bottled on the Isle of Raasay, even using water from the distillery well, which is called Tobar na Ba Bàine (the Well of the Pale Cow – we'd love to know the backstory of that name!). A combination of the distillery's peated and unpeated spirit is matured in a trio of casks – virgin chinkapin oak, high rye bourbon, and Bordeaux red wine. Taking inspiration from the older styles of Hebridean single malts, this lightly peated, fruity Scotch demonstrates Raasay's signature style. Marvelous stuff!
Plums and cherries with flinty smoke and woody, nutty spice.
Soft, mineral peat smoke, baked apples, and salted caramel and a touch of rye bread.
Toasted oak and vanilla, runny toffee, and salty butter with subtle whiffs of gentle, earthy peat.

Faultless.. smoky, sweet, complex flavours, long finish. Definitely recommended!
Beautiful whisky, very complex taste for such a young whisky , lovely smooth, long finish . When aged could well become a classic.
