Pure Scot
Created by Bladnoch's master distiller Ian MacMillan, Pure Scot is a blended Scotch whisky which combines whisky from the aforementioned Bladnoch with whisky from Speyside, the Highlands and Islay (as well as grain whisky). It picked up a gold medal at the San Francisco Spirits Competition in 2018 and at the Scotch Whisky Masters in 2017 and 2016.
Rich and fragrant. Old leather, toffee and fruit cake, malty with a hint of smoke.
Full-bodied and mellow. Beautifully balanced rich smokiness with ginger marmalade, sweet honeyed fruit and slightly peppery.
Spicy and smoky, long lasting and satisfying.
I'd only ever tried Bladnoch Single Malts and just got onto Pure Scot. A fantastic blend of their lowland with the other regions. Don't be put off by the word 'blend' this is fantastic.
