Proper No. Twelve is a blended Irish whiskey produced with the help of former Bushmills distillery manager David Elder. Featuring malt and grain whiskeys drawn from bourbon barrels, nearly 100 blends were created before deciding upon the one in the bottle.
Vanilla pod, floral barley and a touch of sandalwood.
Orchard fruit and honey notes arrive first, backed up by a kick of white pepper.
Drying oak heat and a drizzle of caramel.
You know what, it’s really not that bad, i was expecting way worse, its very drinkable and actually some notes that I’d class as tasty, i wouldn’t buy a full bottle myself but for the price i can’t complain
Received as a well intentioned birthday present from a colleague as they know I’m a whisky drinker… I opened it not long later at a colleagues leaving do, it got a lot of attention to begin with and by the time everyone initially interested had tried a dram upon opening , half of the bottle was gone… Nobody went back for seconds and the bottle remained half full for the rest of the night, with the stragglers unconverted to whisky being warned off trying it by the rest of us as we didn’t want them to dislike whisky even more!
It’s the worst Irish whisky I have tried . I can’t stand Jameson but Jameson is far and away better than this stuff . If you just want to get fucked up then gulp this swill down but if you want a decent middle of the road price comparable whisky then stick with Teeling, Powers or Paddy .
It's light.. I won't say its terrible. Drinkable. Not bad as long it's the genuine one.
At first drink I thought I'd been caught in the fakebooze scandal by the pure ethanol taste, then I realized about half way down the blurry back label it was another celeb whiskey where flavour is not an issue resulting in a flavoured base spirit rather than a whiskey. Picked up in duty free during a rush as was it in a 'favoured section'; Should be avoided when there are so many real irish whiskys available nowadays for a similar duty free price post-brexit
