Proper No. Twelve is a blended Irish whiskey produced with the help of former Bushmills distillery manager David Elder. Featuring malt and grain whiskeys drawn from bourbon barrels, nearly 100 blends were created before deciding upon the one in the bottle.
Vanilla pod, floral barley and a touch of sandalwood.
Orchard fruit and honey notes arrive first, backed up by a kick of white pepper.
Drying oak heat and a drizzle of caramel.

It's okay. Nothing special. I normally have Bushmills as a go-to inexpensive (I'm a Red Breast drinker usually), but saw this at the same price point and thought I'd give it a go. Meh. Not much going in by way of aroma/flavor.....finish is okay. Nothing special, as I said.
Iv just tried this whiskey for the first time. I poured a single measure with a cube of ice and did the same with a Jameson for a test and I have to say that Proper No twelve is the better whiskey.
Not sure what these 5 star reviews are about. Bland, boring and just plainly not a memorable drop.. very disappointed.
Don't buy into the hype and marketing. There are much better whiskeys, no names mentioned.
First off the packaging which starts with the bottle itself which robust. This hefty nature of this bottle exudes quality. Let's face it you can drink this bottle with your wife and the be done with your wife if ya follow my meaning. ( readers should note that I am kidding a bit and that nobody should ever beat their wife with any whiskey bottle). The presentation is second to new none with the green on green concept and the write up on the bottle along with the green bottle itself. Moving on to what's really important is what a inside and that's the whiskey which ain't bad at all. I've seen so many comments from folks who seem to want to denigrate a middle shelf blended whiskey in comparison to higher end sometimes single malt varieties which is like trying to compare a jeep to an escalade. This is not only dumb it's irrelevant trying to compare in essence two separate products. This drinkers opinion is that this bottle is fine on its own or as a mixer, I enjoy my Irish coffee every morning with the stuff.
