Proper No. Twelve is a blended Irish whiskey produced with the help of former Bushmills distillery manager David Elder. Featuring malt and grain whiskeys drawn from bourbon barrels, nearly 100 blends were created before deciding upon the one in the bottle.
Vanilla pod, floral barley and a touch of sandalwood.
Orchard fruit and honey notes arrive first, backed up by a kick of white pepper.
Drying oak heat and a drizzle of caramel.
Very smooth!
It’s what it is, an Irish blend, nowt wrong with it and it’s a cork not a shitty screw cap.
Sweet, vanilla flavour, I'm not a whiskey taster but this is some fine whiskey. To compare to other whiskeys: Jameson has a deep sweet but spicy and woody flavour. JD has a smoky and spicy flavour, unfortunately I do not drink it all that often. Proper Twelve is a sweeter drink with a bigger vanilla emphasis, can also taste the green apple. I would never shot whiskey but Proper Twelve goes down like liquid gold. It is smooth however it's obvious it was made as a business venture. My personal preference is to drink it from a crystal with 1 ice cube if that, especially while watching UFC live. What can I say. The whiskey is delicious and the bottle is iconic.
